Sew Excited!

Dear Barbara Brackman

Hereby a quick note to say that I have just ordered your book on Amazon; Civil War Sampler. But, I've been told that I shall have to wait between two to thirteen days for it - how on earth am I going to contain my excitement! Makes one think, in the good old days, one may have waited months for a parcel to arrive.

Your work is ever so inspiring, thank you.

Kind regards
Catherine...x

Hexagons... Ready for stitching... Catherine...x

Here is a little look at my work for the 'Traditional Patchwork for Beginners' Workshop I am teaching... Do the colours give you a hint? Yes! This will become a Christmas Table Runner/Wall Hanging... or perhaps a lap quilt to snuggle under in front of the open log fire! Mmm... I love Christmas... and it will be upon us before we can say... 'Pudding!' ... Catherine...x

In this photograph the quarter inch seam allowance has been folded over ready to stitch.
Each completed hexagon measures one inch across.

Hat Cutomisation Order... Complete...

Good morning!

Everything is a-sew-sew here! Have plenty to get on with... table-cloth, quilts, rag doll, hats... all to place on my table for the 'Country Fair & Antiques' on Saturday, 13 July, 11am-4pm.

Yesterday, I presented a lovely lady with the hat she asked me to customise for her. She was thrilled, which thrilled me! Big smiles all round! All the effort and time was worth while and I feel a wonderful sense of satisfaction from a job well done. Nothing beats that.

Here's wishing you all a happy and productive day... but don't forget to go outside, breathe in the fragrance from the beautiful blooms and soak up the glorious sunshine, while it lasts.

God bless.

Glued to the Cutting Board...

Evening all!

Today was spent entirely at the cutting board, prepping for my next project... I went out for two short breaks, to buy cat food and then to have a look at a fabric store, simply to stretch and have a change of scenery. This evening I've been sewing some of the blocks and tomorrow, I shall be cutting again, since I had a bright idea half way through the prep-work to slightly change the colour-design in this project... hence more cutting and a bigger quilt as a result, but that is good and all part of the fun of design.

I will probably sew a little more tonight but when it gets to quitting, sleeping will be extra sweet!

So, here's wishing you all a good night and sweet dreams... Catherine...x

Hens and Mr Roodeldoo...
and there before my very eyes... I beheld a glorious sight...
Oh my! A pea green Chevrolet Pick-up! I ain't seen one for real before!
Sweetie Pea!

Sewing Room...

Good morning! Hope you are all well!

The sewing room is starting to take better shape now that I've been working in it for some time - a couple of changes have made a huge difference... I now have a area for sewing, cutting, ironing and my desk for admin, all sorted out.

One really needs to live and work in a space for some time before getting it working to it's full potential... I'm sure things will change in future, as they do, but for now my sewing room feels comfortable and fully functional... happy me!

Hope this encourages you to tackle that area in your home which needs a good sort out.

Have a lovely day!
