Could it be...?

Good evening!
Gosh, we have had some beautiful weather today... guess what I was doing... sorting out websites & blogs! Yep! But... the great thing is... I had the windows open! Could it be Spring... I did see a thrush gathering bits from the garden and diving into the ivy on the wall... nesting time... must be Spring - You are most welcome - make yourself right at home!

And the sun is out!

Good sunny morning to you all... Today, I'm taking full advantage of the sunshine to sort out my poor herb garden and the chooks need a new sand bath for the summer. Over the winter I gave them five old car tires to perch on, which they seem to have taken to, nicely.

Later I'll be in the kitchen preparing lunch and dinner with a few fab ideas from Ina Garten, and then I'll be busy with a number of quilting projects that need to be completed.

At the moment, in the evenings, I am reading 'How to run your home without help.' by Kay Smallshaw - Persephone Books Ltd London - to glean any wisdom I may find in it - there is always room for that, where homemaking is concerned. Regarding the kitchen, I think I may have to start a 'KitchenAid' fund - would love to have a food mixer with all the attachments - may take some time!

Hope you have a lovely weekend!
May God bless you all. Catherine...x

Catherine & The Cottage... Home Sweet Home...

The Quilt Maker

Loving it here in the country, busy with needle and thread, stitching away on my sewing machine or by hand with a thimble instead.

Be sure the quilt I am making is created with utmost care, and that every stitch is wrapped in love and blessed with a heartfelt prayer.

A Life Pleasing to God...

"A life pleasing to God: '...we urge you, brothers to... aspire to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands, as we instructed you, so that you may walk properly before outsiders and be dependent on no one.' " (1 Thessalonians 4:9-12 ESV

Mother Theresa...

People are often unreasonable and self-centred. Forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives. Be kind anyway. If you are honest, people may cheat you. Be honest anyway. If you find happiness, people may be jealous. Be happy anyway. The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway. Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough. Give your best anyway. For you see, in the end, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway.” ― Mother Teresa

Wise Words...
